"Ok. Will she be...startled by my face?" Ming asked, standing up. Xiaobo jumped up onto his signature place: draped over her head with his paws dangling in her face.

"Ok, and Xiaobo! How many times have I told you not to do that!" Ming gently picked Xiaobo off her head and held him, looking into his eyes. "Xiaobo, you're an annoying cat, but you're my annoying cat."

Xiaobo streached his head out, sniffing Damien. "Xiaobo, be nice. Don't hurt him like you did with that other guy..." Ming said, slightly pulling Xiaobo away, tense to put him into her backpack if he tried to attack. Instead, her purred and climbed onto Damien's lap.

"Yeah, but only when he wants to be. When he's angry? Let's just say a certain country is one citizen less from last time. Here, he likes this." Ming handed a small square of chocolate to Damien. "Just hold it flat on your hand. It's like feeding a horse. I think. The last time I was on a horse was years ago."

Xiaobo snaps up the chocolate without biting Damien. "That's a good boy..." Ming said as she fed Xiaobo another square of chocolate. She popped another one into her mouth. "Do you want some?" She asked, offering the bar that she had been breaking apart to Damien.

"Ok, suit yourself." Ming split the chocolate bar in half, ate one half, and tossed the other. Xiaobo raced after it, scarfing it down after catching it mid-air.

"What? The chocolate? The cat? What 'that' are you talking about?" Ming asked, genuinely confused.

"Well, the one on my lip and the one above my eyebrow are from when Xiaobo made me do a faceplant into this bench, and this one, on my forehead is from when Xiaobo put his paws in my face, but forgot his claws were out. Ming pointed to ten little scars in circles on her forehead, above her eyebrows, but separate from the newer one from the bench.

"Sometimes he is. I think he's just forgetful and over-reactive sometimes."

Re: Out for a snack
Xiaobo, finished with the chocolate, padded back to Ming. He had melted chocolate around his mouth. "Xiaobo, silly cat, you have a chocolate mustache!"
