Name: Elbrecht Jaeger ((First first, last last))
Alias/Nickname: Jaeger, or as military personel, and state alchemists may have known him, The Gale Force Alchemist. This name is derived from his former use of wind alchemy, and from his speed and agility.

Birthplace: Amestria supposedly. He was found at the front door of an orphanage.

Hair color: Whitish Gray, Formerly Black
Hair Style: Relatively straight with his hair medium length and uneven.
Clothing: He wears black jeans with random printed t-shirts. He wears a long sleeved leather jacket to hide metal arm guards. ((the metal is on the outside part his arm only.)) He also almost always wears his gloves.

Personality: He is typically a quiet individual. He has a good humor and a good sense of justice. He is also very clear headed.

Dislikes: People making a big deal out of his illness.
Dark Secret: Although this isn't as "Dark" as most others, he is constantly trying to research a cure for his illness. This includes questionable methods, but as I said, he is researching, not actually doing.

History:

- On a cold and windy morning a worker at an orphanage in Central City opened the door and found a basket with a small note attached to it and inside the basket was a baby. The note only listed a name and birthdate. At the orphanage the child grew up well and was well liked by all of the people around him, but something bothered him while he was there. He could just feel that he didn't belong in such a place. At the age of 13 he left a note on his bed and left as abruptly as when he had first arrived. He had taken with him a single set of clothes and some food, obviously he hadn't thought out what he was doing all that well. Plus, with no real work skills he couldn't find a job, which in turn meant he couldn't earn money.
Elbrecht had decided that he wasn't going to return to the orphanage though, even if it lead to his death, he felt that fate had something in store for him elsewhere. It looked as though he would die from starvation when an elderly man came across him and offered to take him in. At first Elbrecht said that he didn't want to be a burden to the man so he declined, but the old man convinced him into it by telling him that he would work and do chores in order to pay off staying there. Jaeger decided that it would obviously be his best option for now. Something just seemed right about going there, something he couldn't explain. The more he did around the house for the guy the more books and papers he found about alchemy. Elbrecht expressed his curiosity to the man and the man told him that he was a retired alchemist.
From that day on Elbrecht constantly asked questions about alchemy to the old man. Then one day when he asked the old man smiled and asked, "Well, do you want to try and learn?" There was no hesitation from Elbrecht when he said yes. Elbrecht trained with the old man for 3 years, finding that he was extremely profficient with wind. Elbrecht learned a lot from the old man and decided that, that is how he wanted to spend his life, as a State Alchemist. He was accepted later that year and showed a great deal of discipline and courage in service. He was well liked by the people around him and after only two years, at the age of 18 he rose to the rank of colonel.
By then he had gained quite a reputation as a colonel, both for his skills and for how kind he was to almost every person he came across. Things were going well but later that year Elbrecht started seeing blood on tissues everytime he blew his nose. He also noticed a little bit of his hair turning gray. He tried to hide the fact that something was wrong, but he started seeing a decrease in his alchemic abilities. He trained more and more each day but still his skills weakened no matter how much he trained, finally the year after he became Colonel he saw a doctor about his problems. By then a little over half of his hair was gray. The doctor told him that he figured Elbrecht had a limited time to live, probably five or six years, also he said that presumably withing a couple of years time Elbrecht would have almost completely lost his alchemic abilities.
With this in mind Elbrecht did some research and made the gloves that he wears today to ease his usage of alchemy. Another thing that the doctor had told him was that the more he used alchemy the quicker he would lose the ability. Elbrecht spent most of that year trying to fulfill his duties while using as little alchemy as possible and hiding his illness from his subordinates. He finally decided early the next year that he would resign as a state alchemist. His reasoning was his illness, and obviously the loss of alchemic skills. His resignation went smoothly and there was a great party for him. He decided that he should look for a lifestyle outside of Central City.
He ended up moving to Yous Well and buying a small cozy home there. His hair was now completely white and he now carries a bloodstained kerchief in his pocket. Shortly after he moved to Yous Well he met Inari. He had nothing else to do so he started helping her in her shop. He still trains with his katana everyday and keeps up his physical strength. The doctor now says that he has 2 or 3 years to live and his alchemic abilities have decreased to solely that of his glove. He has a hidden room within his cottage that holds all of his research on his disease.

- Elbrecht is sitting in the middle of a large field with his eyes closed, legs crossed, and his hands on his knees. He opens his eyes and stands up, he always clears his mind through meditation before training. This allows him to focus solely on training and nothing else. He slowly unsheaths his katana and tosses it into the air so that it is flipping. He holds his hand out beside him and catches it by the handle with out even looking at it. He does a few basic slashing movements and then dashes forward as fast as he can go with a slash. After this he spins his blade around a few times before resheathing it.
He then quickly pulls out a kerchief that he had just bought that day. He brings it up to his nose and blows his nose. The kerchief becomes stained red with blood and Elbrecht folds it up and puts it back in his pocket. He curses under his breath, "It figures, I finally find my purpose in life just to have it taken away by some illness that is incurable." He looks up at the sky and sighs, "Oh, well, if there is a cure I will find it, I have to." He stands still for short while before he starts walking back towards his house. He had completely lost focus in training so he decided to call it quits already.
