Tobi smiled back. It was a fake smile, but he'd gotten pretty good at them over the years, so he was sure Yuan wouldn't notice.

Yuan eyed Tobi warily. He could tell the smile was fake, seeing as he'd tried perfecting it. "Next time you fake smile, try and hide your eyes, they give a lot away." the humunculus stated.

Tobi sighed and looked up at Yuan. "...So....what's your story anyways? How did you become...y'know...a homunculus?" He paused for a second. "You don't have to answer that..."

"Ho, it's alright. But I warn you now, it's kinda long." he laughed uneasily. "I'll start with back when I was four. I was pretty close with my great-grandparents. My great-grandmother ranfan had died and a week later, so did my Great-grandfather Ling. I went to my great-grandfathers funeral and saw the oroboras on his hand. It... interested me. It was about a year later that... it happened. My parents had called me into a room to tell me how my father would be coronated and my grandfather would retire. It was at this time that an assisination happened..." Yuan trailed off. "I-I was stabbed through the chest and cut on my face... it was a year later that I woke up, brought back by a hundred Xingese alchemists. But nothing's perfect. It's why I still have scars." Yuan slowly traced the scar over his eye and scars on his throat. "There's also some on my chest and back." he added quietly.
