Re: The Open Desert
"...A skull," Tobi said rather bluntly. He picked it up and studied it. "It looks human, rather old. Some poor guy must have died of thirst and this is all that's left of him."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita's eye twitched slightly and he kicked the skull onto the ground a few yards away. He then realised he was still in Tobi's arms and quickly got back on the ground and straightened his clothing back out.
"Ahem, sorry about that, now, let's just pretend that was never there and head west.... wherever west is."

Tobi chuckled and pointed. "That's West." He said, heading in that direction.

Re: The Open Desert
Reita skipped along behind Mustang humming a tune to himself before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a cookie.
"So, why did you want to become a State Alchemist, Colonel Mustang?"
Reita bit into his cookie and pulled a juice box out of his purse.

Re: The Open Desert
Tobi wondered for a second why Reita was carrying so much food around, but decided not to ask. He shrugged at her question. "I guess I wanted to change the world. Some job I'm doing, eh? I get lost in the dessert on a mission. Hah." He sighed. "How about you?"

Re: The Open Desert
Reita pondered the question for a moment before finally coming up with a reasonable answer. He sipped his juice before speaking.
"Well, i wanted to put an end to the chaos, and help put an end to these horrible wars between opposing families and gangs i suppose. Most of all, i want to take my father's place as the head of the family military."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita was about to take another bite of his cookie before trying to get a peak at Tobi's face.
"Your father... what was he like?"

Re: The Open Desert
Tobi stopped walking, staring at his feet. "We didn't get along," He said, voice shaking slightly, "I don't talk about him often."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita grabbed Tobi's hand gently and forced a warm smile on his face.
"I'm sorry...."

Re: The Open Desert
Tobi shook his head. "Ah, don't be. It's not really your fault. Besides, if it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't have ever become a soilier or an alchemist."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita simply nodded and then looked at the ground before walking ahead letting go of Tobi's hand.
"I guess you could say me and my father never got along either, but it only pushes me to try harder and out do himself. I have only one goal that i must accomplish before i can finally get over him."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita quickly spun around and looked Tobi in the eye with a large smile on his face. He then put his pinky infront of Tobi and giggled.
"Promise me... that you'll change the world and never let the topic of your father ever make you sad. If you have to, wipe him from your memory."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita giggled again but simply grabbed Tobi's pinky with his and shook them. He then turned around and looked at the sun which was slowly getting lower as they spoke.
"We should hurry to Ish..... Ish-Ishtabul?"

"Ishbal," Tobi corrected, "And you're right. I do not want to be out here after dark."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita nodded slightly before squinting and noticing a object in the near distance. They had been walking for sometime and had to be pretty close to the city. Reita suddenly stopped in his steps and moved his hair to the right side of his face, revealing his violet eye.
"Tell me Colonel, what would you do if you and i were to become enemies? Would you break your promise?"

Re: The Open Desert
Tobi stopped. "Are you suggesting that you and I will become enemies?" He asked, turning to face Reita.

Re: The Open Desert
Reita stopped before a warm wind blew through the air and he simply giggled and walked up to Tobi and leaned against his chest.
"Hopefully not.... i want us to be friends."

Reita simply giggled once he felt Tobi relax and then simply sighed slightly.
"Why not?"
"Why not?"

Re: The Open Desert
"Because it doesn't matter," Tobi said, sounding a bit frustrated, "If it's never going to happen."

Re: The Open Desert
Reita looked up at Tobi from his chest and gave him a sentimental smile. He saw the anger in Tobi's eyes, and wondered why such a subject could bring up this much fire in a person. Reita began to search for many diffrent logical answers, but quickly pushed the thoughts aside as to not give away his position.
"I didn't mean to upset you, i was just curious. I'm sorry."
Reita hugged Tobi tightly, hoping he would forgive him in order to build a friendship with his new colonel.

Re: The Open Desert
Tobi sighed, the anger slowly draining out of him. "It's fine," He muttered, still sounding less than happy, "Just...don't do it again."
