The Battle of Si Castle Empty The Battle of Si Castle

Post by Guest Thu Apr 08, 2010 4:41 am

The Imperial Castle stood alone, hidden in the snowy scenery at the top of the mountains. Soldiers stood guard of th castle, the royal family safely inside under high guard. They stand prepared for the war to reach them, accepting their fates of inevitable war. The snow batters down on the area harder than it has in thirty years, and the darkness looms over the area, allowing the vision of anyone limited to five feet at the most. Here, is the home of the next battlefield as word has been sent that the Scherzo Family marches on towards the Imperial Castle. Will this be the final battle of the Imperial Family? Or will they stand tall once more?

[OOC: This is a faction war, which means the combined might of both factions will attack eachother. Choose who you will send to this battle, and who will reside as reinforcements (although you could just have everyone attack at once, your choice)and post your arrival to or somewhere near the castle. Goodluck to all, and oh, i never forget: A Topic Theme XD

OOC: Alright, I may as well start this thing.

IC: Xanthus Cicatrice Diligenza stood in the midst of Si Castle, watching the imperial troops rushing to achieve their battle formations. The royal family was safe inside of the castle, and had turned full command of the troops in and around Si Castle to Xan, which was a good idea considering that he would be the one doing all of the planning for this event, and then would be the one actually fighting out here.

Taking some time to examine the imperial troops, Xan noted that though they would be outnumbered badly in this battle, they had relatively high morale. This was a good thing, because they would need all of the morale that they could get for this battle.

The Cibolan King received a message from the leader of his elite forces. Apparently, they were on the way, but were being delayed by enemy units. It would take some time before they could join the battle.

After shutting off the communicator, Xan began preparing his strategies and tactics with one thought on his mind.

This battle would be the deciding battle for this war, so defeat was not an option.

Tobi glanced back at the troops. He was one of the troop leaders here, making this the most important mission he'd been on yet. If he succeeded, he'd probably at least get a raise. That would be nice. He sighed. This wouldn't be easy, regardless. A lot of people were going to die here, that was inevitable. All Tobi could really do was try to make sure that most of the deaths weren't on his side and that he wasn't one of them. He began the slow march forward, tensing up in preparation for the battle that was sure to come.

Yuan aproached the castle from the rear, knowing full well he and his troops would be questioned and possibly shot at. Yuan rode on his horse, only a handful of troops compared to the usual following. Its till amde a good deal of men, however. The wind whipped Yuan's hair into his face as he aproached, within 600 yards of the castle. he grinned before looking at the troops so obediantly following. he was short so many name because of that fight, with Damien... Yuan sighed, urging his horse on, awaiting the questions.

Tobi spotted some opposing troops and turned to his men. "Fire," He said coldly, "No questions added." The soldiers nodded and immediately began to open fire on the strange men. Tobi had his gun out and fired a few times as well. The noise was overpowering and Tobi felt the urge to cover his ears. Not wanting to show sign of weakness to his troops, or the opposing ones, he forced his hands to remain on his gun, although he did see a few people covering their own ears. He sighed. War was noisy.

Xan received a report that a strange force was approaching the back of the castle. He disappeared and reappeared at the South Gate (The Back Gate), then smiled upon seeing Yuan Yao's forces. The reason that he knew it was Yuan Yao because only that particular Homunculus would be so impudent as to lead a handful of troops toward a castle without proper warning first.

Those are our allies, do not shoot! I repeat, do not shoot!

Turning back toward the grinning troops, Xan ordered that the 'toys' be prepared for battle. Then, he commanded that when the reinforcements arrived, the gates would be opened for as long as it took for the forces to get inside, then closed immediately.

Then, using Zero Shift, Xan appeared at the West Gate, where the bulk of the enemy forces were. They had already commenced firing upon Yao's forces. With a cold look, Xan ordered the cannons on the Western Wall to fire at the Amestrian forces. The cannons were the first of Xan's 'toys', but they wouldn't be the last of them...

OOC: I think that I'll name that move where I disappear and reappear 'Zero Shift'. If anyone gets that reference, I'll be completely amazed.

Yuan glared angrily upon his troops being shot at. The men, most wearing armor, moved to protect those unprotected. Yuan's own horse wore a form of armor, but Yuan merely had ultimate shield up beneath his clothes and an iron helmet on his head. His men made harsh, angry sounds and fired back at Tobi's troops with guns and bows and arrows.

"Any non-gunmen or archers, continue to the castle. the rest of you, make your way there as quickly as you can. Protect any unarmored, I want as few casualties as possible." Yuan ordered, watching his medics move deftly to any injured as his men quickly followed him, gunmen and archers still sending volley's of arrows and bullets. it took no time to reach the gates and Yuan pulled his horse to a halt, waiting expectantly for entrance.

Seeing that the gunfire wasn't working, Tobi held up a hand and the fire ceased. He saw the enemy fire and immediately turned to his troops and ordered them to get down, jumping down himself. The troops obeyed and were missed by the fire. "Stay down and continue fire," Tobi said with a nod. The troops obeyed.

The heard the Southern Gate opening, meaning that Yuan's troops would be entering the castle shortly. This was defiantly a good thing, especially for morale.

One of the imperial troops informed him that the new Xingese emperor had joined the imperial army in defending Si Castle. Xan dismissed the man and returned his attention to the Amestrian soldiers.

Cannons, continue suppressing fire! Archers and gunmen, prepare to release the first volley on my mark!

The ranged units aimed their weapons at the Amestrian forces, ready to fire.

Ready.....Aim.....Fire!

The ranged units fired one quick volley at the enemy forces, just enough that some men should die. Xan wasn't quite ready to begin the battle in earnest; he was still missing something that would benefit his ranged units...

Yuan kept to the side until all his men were inside. Compared to the number of his men, there were only a handful of injuries and even less deaths. [color=orange] "Excellent."mured, dismounting his horse and handing the reigns to one of his more trusted men. [color=orange] "I suppose Xan's here." he stated, swiping some blood from his neck. A bullet had grazed him and though it was already healed, the blood smeared his tan skin, growing sticky form coagulation.

A few men were hit by the fire. 3 dead, 2 injured. Tobi cursed loudly. "Don't cease fire!" He yelled, voice breaking slightly with rage. When the troops obeyed, Tobi rubbed his temples, sighing. "Get me a damn medic!" The medics obediently began tending to the wounded. Tobi sighed. He couldn't stand to just sit around and get shot at.

From atop a nearby hill, just out of range of the enemy arrows and bullets, stood a red-haired man, with a small group of soldiers standing by behind him, ready for his command. The man grinned, it was Daigoro Ito, the Windblade Alchemist, and he was ready. That was when he saw the cannon fire, and he grimaced. Those cannons were going to make life damned hard for the Army. Good thing he was here then. Daigoro held up one hand, signalling the men to stay, and Daigoro quickly ducked down, behind some cover, and pulled out his large match. In the tip was some magnesium, and this is what he made his transmutation circles with.

He flicked the tip open, and it began to burn. He then drew it out in a wide circle, drawing symbols on it, and keeping it in shape with the wind. Once he had finished it, he put his hands onto it, and it glowed. Air started to rush into it area, and grew solid, before building itself into a large cannon, basically invisible to anybody at distance. Daigoro grinned, and let it fire.

The good thing about these cannons is that they have huge range... Daigoro thought to himself, as one large ball of solid wind went flying straight for the enemy cannons.

The battle raged on and on, shots ringing throughout the land for miles. Explosions, snow, and... mist? Yes, a heavy mist fell upon Tobi's troops, hiding them in the snow and misty battlefield. This would surely give the Amestrian military a better chance at winning this battle. Rain began to pour down heavily, and thunder and lightning blasted in the air, yet refused to pierce through the mist, which was soon joined by fog. This would hinder both armies, but the next factor would surely benefit the Amestrian Military. Thanks to the heavy rain, the flood gates soon broke and a large stream of water struck the castle, opening the southern gate. Who would take advantange of this situation? Apparently the military, for, with the arrival of Daigoro, came the artillery units. Heavy canon fire, explosive devices, and even a few tiger statues that spat out flames would set the Imperial Army in disarray.

(OoC: Nice, Take. xD)

Tobi smiled. Things were looking up. The rain was a plus on his part, too. More liquid in the air meant his alchemy would be more effective if he had to use it. He turned back to his men and nodded to tell them to continue their fire.

Xan heard a sickening crunch, followed by lots of screaming. Several of the cannons next to him had been utterly destroyed, apparently by nothing more than wind. Xan was torn between roaring in rage and grinning. The enemy had received reinforcements? Very well, it was time to play a little game with them then...

Xan whistled, a sound unable to be mistaken for anything else but a call to something with supersensitive ears toward his particular form of whistling.

With a roar, Quicksilver, who had been watching everything from in the sky, suddenly flew toward Dai's troops with a stream of fire erupting from its mouth.

Yuan watched as his troops huddled in clumps, trying to stay away from the walls of what was a courtyard as the gates broke open. Many of them moved out of way of the gate and somefigeted in their armor, not that it could rust. Yuan's horse, Bai, snorted from where he stood by Yuan's eigth best adviser. "Don't worry, Bai." Yuan soothed, Ai, his snake, poking her ehad from his pocket. Except, rather than the gold snake she was a bluegrey. yuan had given her ultimate shield as protection, grateful for his level four power. Yuan turned his slanted gaze on one of Xan's men. "Is Xan around? I'd like to speak with him on what my men should do." Yuan said briskly.

Tobi glanced up, wide eyed, his mouth agape. What the hell was that thing?!? Several of the troops had noticed it too and were pointing their guns upwards at it. Tobi shook his head furiously. "Hold your fire, men. Don't let it know we're down here. The mist is on our side, it shouldn't be able to see us. Continue firing at the opposing men instead." The men nervously glanced up, but obeyed their superior.

Daigoro watched in horror as the creature sent fire all over his men, who were now panicking and firing back, barely touching the dragon. As he watched, almost every man was set alight, and fell, dead, with the rest panicking and running. He grimaced, noticing that the creature hadn't seen him. Good. But now it was patrolling the area. Bad. His heavy artillary would be ineffective, unless that thing was taken out of the sky. With a sigh, he decided to try his new tactic. If he couldn't get past the dragon, he'd go around it. He needed to get to Tobi and the others, without alerting it to his presence.

He thought for a couple of seconds, and grinned. This... was gonna hurt. He touched the cannon beside him, aiming it down at the mist. He then created another circle, and built around himself, a barrier to stop the ground hitting him directly. He climbed into the cannon, and fired. He flew through the air, and landed right behind the Amestrian Military, his shield dissipating. He had to get to Tobi.

Looking at the rain, and idea hit Tobi. Using his alchemy and the rain off the ground, he made ice stalagmites raise from the ground and destroy the main defense of the castle, it's walls and guard. That was about the time he realized that there was something hurtling towards his army. A large dent in the army formed where the thing would land and Tobi raised his gun, in case the thing was an enemy.

Xan winced as Tobi's technique hit his defenses, destroying the main gate, and killing twenty of his men. Damn it, this could be a rough battle...

With a whistle and a point towards the mist, Xan ordered Quicksilver to launch a ball of fire at the Amestrian army.

Cannons, fire a second volley toward that mist! Do not allow them to approach this gate!

Although several cannons had been destroyed, enough still remained to pose a serious threat.

Xan was not pleased with how this battle was going so far; outnumbered, out-matched for the most part, and worst...Xan couldn't use his light abilities in this amount of light....And his new equipment was with his reinforcements. If only he had thought to bring more than just his basic equipment, he could probably be doing something other than fighting at a distance. But as it was....

Someone get me Yuan Yao! Right now!

After Xan sent a messenger to Yuan Yao telling him to go to Xan, a soldier approached and bowed low.

My Lord, the preparations are complete. What are your orders?

Xan wasted no time in grinning and telling the man to prepare to the first wave.

This battle had just gotten a bit more fun.

Seeing the dragon again, Tobi felt sick to his stomach. The men looked nervously at him, waiting for orders. "Fire," He ordered. The men nodded and began open fire at the creature. Tobi used his alchemy again to shoot ice stalagmites, like the ones he'd used on the castle, at the dragon. He hoped that the bullets would get its guard down and his ice attack would land.

Yuan nodded at the messenger. "I trust your judgement. Make sure the men don't do anything stupid." Yuan told his adviser, patting Bai on the neck before following the messenger away at a brisk pace.
"You rang, Xan?" Yuan asked, unable to keep from using the minor joke. Yuan's ultimate shield flickered briefly on his hands and his fingers twitched. Obviously he was getting tired or it would have held. he'd need to strengthen it with some... spare carbon atoms.

Xan looked at Yuan with a mixture of amusement and relief.

Well as you can see, we are in the middle of a losing battle, and I am going to need you to have your men defend the South Gate, or the situation could get worse. Any problems with that? Oh, and I'm placing you in charge while I'm gone.

Not waiting for the answer, Xan whistled, calling Quicksilver to him. The dragon landed with a loud thud at Xan's feet after evading the ice missiles. The Cibolan King had a nice little plan worked up, and he would need to know that the castle was being defended well before he tried it, as it was.....risky to say the least, and he wouldn't be in the castle to make sure it didn't fall if he failed. He had to count on Yuan.

Mounting the dragon, Xan grinned at Yuan, then ordered Quicksilver to take flight, which it did with a joyful roar.

It was time to unleash some of his own powers upon the enemy.

"You got it, Xan!" Yuan called to Xan before rushing back to his own men. "I want you men to defend the gate. Those of you without armor, take spare guns and go sniper style." Yuan ordered before pondering for a second. An entire wall had been destroyed. He ran out the south gate, putting up ultimate shield over his face. From outside, he looked at the damaged area. he rose his hands in a sweeping gesture. Thick walls of earth took up as protection for the area.

"Sir! Please get back! You are upsetting the men and your horse!" his adviser called as Bai freed himself, trotting to Yuan's side. Yuan sighed and patted the armored horse, who happily followed the emperor back within the walls.

The storm became heavier, blocking out the sunlight, and the clock struck twelve. it was midnight, the prime time for the Amestrian military to gain a victory. The snow and rain mixture poured down on the land, and the bombardment coming from the Amestrian military wasn't helping the Imperial Military at all. Suddenly, that became the least of their worries. A mudslide attacked the castle from above, taking down the west wall, while the second flood gate broke down and forced the East gate open. Whoi would take advantage of these mystical happenings?
