Xan looked genuinely confused for a moment, then he sighed.

What's your fault Take? What do you feel so guilty about?

Xan didn't want to admit it, but he cared for Take and Ilona, and wanted to see them happy. He didn't know why, but ever since that visit to Truth, he had known that even though he was still alive, unlike most Homunculi, Truth had changed him fundamentally in return. He could read emotions better, but now felt more emotional himself, he could control light, but had no alchemy in return, and he knew that as Diligence, he would have a duty placed upon him. In return for power, he now had more duties. But, he now had the diligence to take care of everything.

Takegami realised he said that outloud and simply shook his head as to dismiss it. He looked out the window, seeing the heavy snow fall onto Drachma, and sighed sadly. He pictured his first born son running through the snow, playing and enjoying himself. It was a sight he couldn't help but smile about, and then the image of Ilona watching him and playing with him outside made him even happier.

He suddenly noticed the smile on his face and quickly hid it. He didn't understand what it was about Reita, but in return for Reita's abilities, Takegami was supposed to give him control over his emotions. So why did Reita want him to be happy, yet guilty at the sametime? He simply dismissed it, and continued to look at the snowy scene. He looked over at Ilona, and pictured what their life together would have been like.

"Once again, i've lost someone i love."

He decided he'd let Ilona's dream last untill the train ride ended, then he'd let her be like she wanted.

Xan was fighting between laughing, and slapping Take lightly.

After all of this, you still think that you have lost someone? Why can't you let your self be happy? You and Ilona are together at last, she's asleep on your shoulder, and yet you think you've lost? Wow, you are insane. Which reminds me, if you want Reita out of your head, I know how to help you with that.

Xan said that last sentence with a wink.

Takegami chuckled lightly to himself at Xan's question. 'Why won't you let yourself be happy?' He couldn't help but laugh, for it was just hilarious to him. Why should someone, after all he's done, be allowed happiness? He simply shook his head and sighed slightly.

"Why does the devil deserve to be happy?"

[Guest]

Xan thought about Take's question for a moment.

The devil? You are not the devil. Do you what the main differences are between the two of you?

Xan wondered if Take even heard the part about Reita beforehand. Then, he wondered what Truth had given him all of this information for. Dismissing his thoughts, Xan waited for Take's answer.

Takegami simply sighed, knowing that this answer was probably going to be wrong, but he asked regretablly.

"Alright, what's the diffrence?"

He heard about what Xan said about Reita, but he couldn't give the man up. No, he still needed Reita, and Reita still had his finger wrapped around Takegami, leaving him without any control over himself what so ever.

Xan smiled, almost like Truth, and that was scary.

The difference is, you seem to feel remorse for what you've done, the devil simply blames God for casting him out of heaven and constantly plots revenge. Oh, and Reita, since I know that you can hear me, if you ever drive Take to the brink of insanity again, I will have your incorporeal ass on a mental pike. And we both know that I don't make idle threats.

Xan thought to himself for a minute. So Take, how was my answer?

Takegami sighed slightly, seeing that Xan did make some sense. He nodded slightly and thanked Xan quietly as not to wake Ilona. He suddenly felt the train slowling, which meant they were not far from their destination. He smiled slightly, happy that Ilona could atleast be happy. Suddenly, a single tear fell from his eye and rolled down his cheek slowly.

"Xan, i think it's time we left..."

Ilona stirred from her sleep, about to be awakened. She smiled at her pleasant dreams of her son, Takegami and her as one happy family and wished that the dream would last..

Xan chuckled, but looked a little sad. You won't at least stay with her long enough to say anything when she awakens?

The Xan sighed, as he doubted his words would have any real effect on Take right now.

At least leave something so that she knows she wasn't dreaming. (Xan laughs weakly at this point).

This truly was an interesting day, Xan thought. They had gone through the fires of hell, and come through together, now they were all going their seperate ways again. But, none of them would ever be the same again. Xan snapped himself out of his thoughts when he noticed that Ilona was waking up. Smiling, he relaxed in his chair to watch what happened next on this train ride through heaven.

Takegami noticed Ilona was waking up, and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a golden pocketwatch, and on it read 'Methusaleh's Heart.' He placed it into her hands, and decided he'd go with Xan's plan and wait untill they could say a proper good bye.

She opened her eyes and felt the pocket watch in her hands..What does this mean? She gives a question look to Takegami..
"What are you..?"Ilona felt herself grip on Takegami's arm tighter.

[Guest]

Takegami simply kissed her lightly and smiled as he leaned back in the chair.

"If you ever need me, just open that watch and say my name and i'll be there. This may be the last time we see eachother, but i want you to know that..."

Takegami tried to say it, but Reita was holding him back. He became confused, Reita's voice whispering all sorts of things in his ear, telling him of all the dishonesty and betrayal.

She pressed the pocketwatch close to her chest..Guess my dream of one happy fmaily is nil huh? At least I still have a reminder of him..Ilona kissed his lips lightly and smiled, her cold steel eyes slightly becoming warm.
"This isn't the end..I know we'll meet again.."

Takegami nodded slightly and hugged her goodbye. He then sat down, and crossed his legs femininely, returning his gaze to the outside, trying to hide the tear that fell from his left eye. He hated himself for being a monster, and hated himself for being the cause of thei seperation. Now he was mad at Xan for bringing him back to life, for now he had to suffer for eternity without Ilona. His want for eternal life led him nowhere, but to a life of eternal loneliness.

The train reached her destination and reached for her IV stand and suitcase. She took one last look at her husband and smiled as if to reasurre that she will be okay without him. Ilona placed his pocket watch next to hers and then exited the train, fading into the white landscape of her native homeland.

Xan sighed, and thought to himself that he had seen what he needed to see. He hoped that Truth was happy, as he had fulfilled his end of the bargain, or at least, he was working on it. Feeling content, Xan leaned back into his chair and relaxed, thinking of the future, which speaking of the future, didn't he have to attend to....certain events? Oh well, it didn't matter.

Xan opened, the window and whistled quietly. Quicksilver flew right next to the train.

Now it was just about time for the kings to depart. And Xan would be taking the dragon....but first, he needed a few more things.

Bah, those things could wait until later. Much later.

Goodbye Take, for now. Oh, and I am sorry for what I have done.

With those words, Xan hopped on Quicksilver's back and flew away, toward Cibola.

Takegami sighed as he sat on the train alone. It was quiet, and the train rattled on, and all he could do was read his book. It was the book, 'The Art of War', but he set it down and instead picked up another one. This book was called, 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'. He sighed lightly, and watched as the train left the platform, his eyes staying on Ilona untill he could see nonthing but the white plains and the heavy snow. He felt empty inside, and felt as if he had lost it all, but did not let that stop him. He simply looked at the grey skies, and sighed sadly.

"Untill next time guys..."

He stood up and put away his book and leapt out a window. He landed onto the ground, and suddenly he vanished like a whisp of air. What was awaiting these three in the future? Noone was sure, but whatever it was, it was sure to be very entertaining.
